changes in electrocardiographic, hematologic and biochemical indices of markhoz goat breed in experimental hypocalcemia
Authors
abstract
background: milk fever in cattle, sheep and goats occurs around the time of parturition and is caused by hypocalcemia. objectives: the aim of this study was to investigate the physiological effects of experimental hypocalcemia on electrocardiography, hematology and serum biochemical changes in markhoz goat breed. methods: ethylene diamine tetra- acetate solution 4.6% was intravenously infused to 5 healthy goats (experimental group) and 5 healthy goats received 0.9% saline solution (iv) as control group. in both groups, electrocardiogram was recorded in base apex lead and serum was collected before and after infusion. electrocardiography, biochemical and hematologic parameters were measured. clinical signs of hypocalcaemia were caused by edta infusion. results: the results in experimental group showed a significant decrease in calcium, lactate dehydrogenase, potassium, and increase in glucose concentration, (p

full textElectrocardiographic parameters of Markhoz goat using base apex lead and six standard limb leads
Electrocardiographic study of 50 healthy Markhoz goats ranging from less than 1 to more than 3 years inage was carried out. The heart rate varied from 99 to 123 beats/min with a mean of 110 beats/min. There wasa significant difference between the heart rate of goats in 3 age groups (PT waves and QT interval in base apex lead, QRS wave in lead I, P-R and PQ interval in aVF lead were higherand du...
full textHematologic and Plasma Biochemical Changes following Experimental Adrenal Insufficiency
Aim of the Study: The aim of this work is to study the hematologic effects of bilateral adrenalectomy in rats, especially on platelet function; and to relate the observed changes to the associated alterations in plasma biochemical parameters, also, to test the effects of replacement therapy by hydrocortisone. Materials and Methods: Rats were subjected to bilateral adrenalectomy (group I), sham-...
full textsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Evaluation of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), electrocardiography, creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in diagnosis of selenium deficiency in Markhoz goat kids breed
BACKGROUND: Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is known as a cardiac biomarker in determining the myocardial damage of diseases which affect the heart muscle. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to evaluate the serum cTnI concentration in Markhoz Breed goats suffering selenium (Se) deficiency and its correlation with electrocardiographic parameters, and activity of creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransf...

T HE BABOON (Papio anuliis and Papio thioceplialus) is becoming an increasingly important animal for laboratory investigation. On account of its greater size and the ease with which large quantities of blood can be withdrawn and multiple marrow and other biopsies taken, it is replacing the rhesus monkey (Macaca niulatta). Its temperament is equable and the animals are more reliable than the sma...
